One of our first projects for the Sugar Bowl Corporation was reenvisioning the lodge bar known as “The Belt Room” named after Sugar Bowl’ famous ski race The Silver Belt. Here we enlarged the bar by taking over unused lodge spaces and creating places for people to gather. Our design celebrated the history of skiing and racing at Sugar Bowl. We were influenced by Wurster’s original design of the lodge to return to a vocabulary of simplicity.
