Business Development + Communications Manager
BCV is opening a position based in our San Francisco office for an experienced Business Development and Communications Manager to join our team. This individual will lead firm-wide marketing efforts while developing and implementing impactful business development practices. The ideal candidate is a proactive and resourceful results-driven professional who is comfortable working independently as well as proactively with BCV’s senior leadership. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a deep, metrics-driven understanding of the firm’s business development strategy, including refining the firm’s prospect assessment process.
- Developing and maintaining firm-wide marketing content and other digital assets.
- Coordinating with design staff on generating project collateral and project narratives.
- Working closely with senior leadership to maintain existing client relationships and cultivate the pipeline for new business.
- Identifying new growth opportunities, initiating targeted outreach, and conducting appropriate, timely follow-through
- Actively monitoring the marketplace for RFQ/RFP opportunities in alignment with BCV’s core competencies
- Guiding the pursuit process, including RFQ/RFP responses, pitches, and concept presentations
- Maintaining BCV’s website and social media platforms
- Organizing and directing project photo shoots
- Coordinating PR campaigns and award submissions for select projects
- Developing special marketing initiatives, including books, white papers, exhibitions, and other publications
- Regularly representing BCV to clients, and consultants, including at conferences and events
Qualifications:
- Degree from an accredited college/university
- Minimum five years of related work experience, preferably within the A/E/C industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong editorial and proofreading skills
- Keen attention to detail and excellent graphic design skills
- Proficiency in Adobe CC and Microsoft Office
Compensation Range: $70,000-$110,000
Senior Technical Architect – San Francisco
BCV is opening a position for a Senior Technical Architect with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience to join our firm in San Francisco. The successful candidate will be a technically proficient architect with strengths in working drawing production, detailing, code knowledge, and staff mentoring. Fluency in Revit/AutoCAD and Adobe CC is required, and extensive technical experience is a high priority.
The Senior Technical Architect assists staff and Project Managers in assuring that the technical content of our designs meet the architectural professional standard of care. The Senior Technical Architect receives requests for advice related to code compliance, coordination with other consultants, constructability, and quality assurance. Requests are received on a varied assortment of ongoing projects in all phases of completion. The Senior Technical Architect also mentors staff in understanding the reasoning behind answers and facilitates their exploration into related standards and concepts.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Architecture from an accredited college/university
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in responsible positions in architecture and/or general construction.
- Extensive technical experience in DD, CD and CA phases
- Extensive experience in a wide range of high end custom residential, commercial retail, hospitality, and restaurant projects, and development feasibility services.
- Understanding of contract relationships in development projects and professional liability exposure.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, including being a quick but safe study of unique situational conditions.
- Specific professional skills in Project Management, Interior and Exterior Custom Detailing, Code Research, and Specification Writing.

Job Captain – San Francisco
BCV is opening a position for a Job Captain with 6 or more years of experience to join our firm in San Francisco. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and versatile designer, capable of supporting jobs from concept studies and presentations through technical execution. Fluency in Revit/AutoCAD and Adobe CC is required, experience with residential projects and hospitality design is required.

- Degree in Architecture from an accredited college/university

- Experience with full-scope residential and hospitality design and documentation
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills

Internships – San Francisco
BCV seeks proactive, creative and curious interns to join BCV for a paid summer internship to assist in graphic presentation and 3D modeling. Candidates must have excellent presentation skills as well as proficiency with Sketchup and 3D rendering software. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a must. AutoCAD and Revit proficiency is a plus.
What you’ll do:
- Conduct research pertinent to projects
- Track down images/artwork and obtain permissions
- Write, edit and fact-check content
- Attend weekly progress meetings
- Assist in general office organization of sample and digital libraries
Experience: The ideal candidate will be a rising college junior or senior with an interest in architecture, design and/or art history. Strong writing and editing skills are a must. An aptitude for graphic design is a big plus.
Duration: Starting between 5/15 – 6/20 with an 8-week minimum commitment, 40 hours per week
Compensation Range: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, no benefits
