SAN FRANCISCO BREWING CO.

San Francisco, California

BCV worked with the family-owned San Francisco Brewing Co. to open a 12,000 SF restaurant and brewery within the historic Ghirardelli Square. The project combines indoor dining and bar area, an outdoor beer garden, and production space, providing a home for the popular San Francisco brewery, which has sold locally to Bay Area restaurants and bars since its founding in 2012.

San Francisco Brewing Co. is dedicated to creating “delicious and easy-to-drink beer that fosters community, celebration, and local artistry.” Inspired by this philosophy, BCV’s design balances the rich history and character of Ghirardelli with colorful tile and artwork, flexible seating and game areas, and a private tasting room adjacent to the production space.

Ghirardelli Square, considered the first successful adaptive reuse project in the country, has a history that spans more than a century. BCV continues to work with Jamestown on the rehabilitation of Ghirardelli, integrating new tenants and re-establishing this beloved San Francisco location as a shopping and dining destination for visitors and locals alike.
