Situated within the historic Saint Francis Yacht Club on the shore of the San Francisco Bay, BCV’s remodel of the Member Bar seeks to evolve the club’s social heart through a functional/aesthetic/historically embued reconstruction of the core 800 s.f. bar area, along with the adjacent Grill Room. ​ The project design leverages the pre-existing bar layout (U-shape), while integrating locally sourced materials from a former racing yacht to create the bartop and elements of the backbar. ​ Additionally, new wall ‘cubbies’ are introduced to house memorabilia and awards garnered throughout the Club’s storied sailing history, and a drink rail is introduced against the window wall to affirm the connection to the water, beyond.
