James Rosenfield has consistently emphasized the importance of including a bookstore in his country mart projects. For Marin Country Mart, a prominent location on the project’s main green was selected for the bookstore. The design, a contemporary interpretation of a classic university library with wood paneling and cork floors, was developed under his direction, after which the store was leased to an operator.
