woodbine master plan

Toronto, Canada

Opened in 1956, Woodbine Racetrack hosts both thoroughbred and standardbred racing on a site just northeast of Toronto Pearson International Airport. The master plan for the 684-acre property, developed by LiveWorkLearnPlay (LWLP) for Woodbine Entertainment Group and including SWA Group, BCV Architects, Nelson Nygaard and others, creates a “city within a city” comprised of seamlessly integrated districts.

The master plan enables Woodbine to continue as a destination for horse racing and gaming, while envisioning new entertainment, cultural and culinary offerings, as well as hotel, office, education, recreation, health, wellness and residences. The first phase of development will include an expanded gaming district with integrated entertainment, hospitality and related amenities.
