The Mercato in Bend, Oregon sits between downtown and an industrial area currently experiencing revitalization, with several mill buildings undergoing adaptive reuse and conversion to retail shops. Composed of several buildings, the Mercato will become a mixed-use center with food retail, restaurants, offices and residences.

BCV has designed a food retail marketplace with a double-height arcade, which, together with outdoor dining, looks towards and becomes a part of a path leading to the Deschutes River and the historic industrial buildings. Offices with 50 luxury condominium units above will allow for spectacular views of both the river and adjacent Deschutes National Forest. The building will incorporate materials that reference the surrounding industrial typology, including brick and concrete, a metal roof and steel-framed windows and doors.
