Founding Principal

Chris is a founding Design Principal and Chief Operations Officer at BCV Architecture + Interiors. A LEED-accredited professional with more than 35 years of experience, he has led a diverse range of planning, architecture, and interior projects across sectors. Guided by BCV’s culture-driven design philosophy, Chris develops solutions tailored to each client’s needs while responding thoughtfully to context and community.

With a passion for lifestyle and hospitality environments, Chris has shaped numerous landmark placemaking projects that celebrate the intersection of food, wine, and sustainable living. His portfolio includes hospitality destinations, marketplaces, specialty retail, restaurants, wineries, residences, and mixed-use developments. Recent projects include successful entitlement of The Cruz Hotel in Santa Cruz, a ground-up private residence in Hillsborough, California, Mercato del Gusto at V. Sattui Winery in Napa, SF EATS Food Hall in Terminal 1 at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and the rebirth of Mauna Lani’s CanoeHouse along the Kona Coast of Hawaii. He also directed BCV’s award-winning design for Press Club, a San Francisco wine bar and lounge, as well as the Napa Farms Market original concepts at SFO.

Chris’s community-centered marketplace and food hall work includes Hudson Eats at Brookfield Place in New York; the iconic San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace; and the acclaimed Oxbow Public Market in Napa. His extensive restaurant portfolio features M.Y. China for celebrity chef Martin Yan and the historic German beer hall Schroeder’s in San Francisco’s Financial District. Chris’s design leadership and meticulous attention to detail are matched by a deep respect for budget and project constraints, which he approaches not as limitations but as catalysts for creativity and innovation.
