SF Eats at San Francisco International Airport Named Airport Food Hall of the Year

BCV Architecture + Interiors’ award-winning food hall celebrates the Bay Area’s culinary identity while redefining the airport dining experience.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — BCV Architecture + Interiors is proud to announce that SF Eats at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has been recognized as Airport Food Hall of the Year at the 2026 Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) + Hospitality Conference and Awards, one of the aviation industry’s most prestigious global honors recognizing excellence in airport food and beverage.

Designed by BCV for Tastes on the Fly / Paradies Lagardère, SF Eats transforms the traditional airport concession model into a vibrant culinary marketplace that reflects the character and diversity of the Bay Area. Located in Harvey Milk Terminal 1, this expansive food hall brings together celebrated local operators in an open, inviting environment tailored to the airport experience.

A distinctive architectural expression unifies the diverse vendors through a restrained, timeless palette of whitewashed oak, brushed stainless steel, Carrara marble, and white Heath Ceramics tile, while each tenant’s individual branding adds depth and character. A central marble-topped horseshoe bar anchors the space, and an illuminated Pacific Cocktail Haven back bar creates a striking focal point, marking the transition between the terminal concourse and the food hall beyond. Extending the terminal’s existing terrazzo flooring into the space reinforces the food hall as a welcoming, shared destination for travelers.

The vendors are thoughtfully organized within a sweeping exhibition space that maximizes visibility while creating operational efficiencies through a shared back-of-house. Signature pizza ovens serve as a visual centerpiece, while clear organization, integrated lighting, flexible merchandising, and durable, timeless materials combine to create an intuitive customer experience. Sustainability is embedded throughout the project through the use of FSC-certified wood, recycled-content materials, and low-VOC finishes.

The marketplace features an exceptional collection of regional culinary brands, including:

  • Tony’s Pizza Napoletana
  • Napa Farms Market
  • Kitava Kitchen
  • Kona’s by Pacific Cocktail Hven
  • Equator Coffees

“Food halls and marketplaces are unique project types because they bring together architecture, food, and community in a powerful way,” said Chris von Eckartsberg, AIA. "At SF Eats, we combined quality, timeless materials with meticulous detailing to create an environment that feels authentic, welcoming, and unmistakably local. Airports have become the civic front doors to our cities, and they deserve experiences that are as memorable as the destinations themselves. Receiving this international recognition is an honor for our team and for everyone who helped bring this vision to life.”

The FAB Awards are widely recognized as the premier international awards program celebrating excellence in airport food and beverage. Winners are selected by a panel of global industry experts representing airports, concessionaires, hospitality leaders, and travel professionals. The Airport Food Hall of the Year distinction recognizes projects that combine outstanding design, exceptional food and beverage offerings, operational excellence, and memorable passenger experiences.
