mustards grill

San Francisco International Airport

Mustards Grill, Napa Valley’s beloved neighborhood bistro, has fed one happy traveler after another. BCV worked with Mustards and Tastes on the Fly to bring the celebrated bistro to SFO’s International Terminal, embracing the soul of the original location while creating a fresh interior aesthetic for the airport environment. Bright tile, Carrara marble, a variety of wood species and soft cork pair with caramel-hued seating and playful graphics, signage and artwork from founder Cindy Pawlcyn’s personal collection, resulting in a lively and sophisticated interior.

Customers approaching from the concourse are greeted with a view of the elegant bar on the northwest end wall, similar to the entry experience at the Napa location. The main dining area is defined by a variety of seating styles, from luxurious banquettes to light elm wood four and two-tops. The flanking banquette arrangement is reprised at the southeast, with classic bistro mirrors above on the tiled end wall.

True to the warm and welcoming nature of Mustards Grill, artwork hand-selected by Pawlcyn includes works by the artist Glen Baxter (also a noted cartoonist for The New Yorker). The light-hearted touch is also found in BCV’s reprisal of the witty signage and graphics found at the original location.
