BARBACCO SFO
San Francisco, California

Located in downtown San Francisco, Barbacco is known for its welcoming, convivial atmosphere and delicious Italian fare and wine selection. In approaching the design of an airport outpost for the enoteca, BCV was inspired by the energy and flair of the original, leveraging the unusual shape of the existing space within SFO’s international terminal to create a variety of dining options for travelers.

The rich palette of materials forms a counterpoint to the soaring, light-filled space, with accents of Barbacco’s trademark bold yellow found throughout. The existing space serves as a springboard for the creation of distinct environments within a cohesive overall aesthetic, including an antipasti bar, grab-and-go counter, elegant marble cocktail bar and a mix of banquette seating and booths overlooking the boarding area. Italian-inspired materials throughout include Carrara marble, warm wood and leather, terracotta tiles and stainless steel.
